Camping
There is a lot of camping available in the surrounding areas to the Social. From National Forest completely primitive to RV style. I'm a simple girl, so can get by with an outhouse and at least some water! :) I've listed below what I've found for the area. If you have a fully self-contained vehicle, I have a fair amount of parking room at my home.
Runkle Lake Campground - (Where our Saturday activities will be taking place. I will not be camping, but be at home.) This campground is owned and operated by the City of Crystal Falls. It boasts of 57 modern and primitive camping sites with electric, water and sewer hookups available. There are modern public rest rooms and showers and an RV dumpstation is also available. Some of the features of this park include tennis, basketball, and volleyball courts, horseshoe pits, softball and little league fields, football/soccer field, playground and picnic areas, swimming beach with certified lifeguard on duty, and a public boat ramp and fishing pier. Fees in 2007 were $17-23/night. Check out their website for other amenities and campground information and rules. Mostly treed; very little "camping" grass. But, plenty of room to run...please note if you choose to stay here - the fenced in area on the left as you come in (by the tennis courts) is for youth soccer. This will be in full-force at the time of the social, so please do not allow your dogs to play in this area. Even with the "clean up" I know you would do, the City did ask this one thing. This campground is about 8 miles from Bewabic; 5 miles from my home.

Pentoga Park Camping - There are 100 sites available at this county park. Fees are $18/night for non-Iron County residents. Looks like there is additional fee for electrical hook-up. Check out their website for other amenities and campground information and rules. This park is about 20 miles from Runkle Lake; 18 from my home.

Glidden Lake State Forest
Camping - This is rustic/primitive. For tent/small camper use only.
No amenities. No reservations. Fee is $15/night. This is on a lake,
so there is a boat launch, fishing, hiking, canoeing, wildlife watching, and
connects to off-road trails.
It is about 5 miles to Runkle Lake from this camping area; 10 to my home.
